The Mountain Winery gives Saratoga a hillside concert setting, while nearby Bay Area venues add amphitheater shows, college arena events, sports, and arena concerts.

• Shoreline Amphitheatre: This outdoor concert venue located in nearby Mountain View has a capacity of 22,000 and hosts large-scale concerts and live events in the South Bay.⁴
• Event Center at San Jose State University: The downtown San Jose arena has a 7,000-capacity setup for concerts, sporting events, conferences, corporate events, and campus recreation.⁵
• SAP Center at San Jose: This arena is home to the San Jose Sharks and hosts concerts, family events, and major arena tours. The arena can hold up to 18,500 guests, depending on setup.⁶

Public Transportation: Public transit access may be limited because of The Mountain Winery’s hillside location. Rideshare guests can use the venue’s drop-off and pickup area, though pickup may be delayed while driveway traffic clears after shows.³

Driving: The Mountain Winery is located at 14831 Pierce Road, Saratoga, CA, and on-site parking opens about 2.5 hours before showtime. From Saratoga, head toward Pierce Road and follow the hill road to The Mountain Winery entrance. Once on-site, use available parking and allow extra time from the main gate to the concert area.⁷

Food and drink are part of the full evening plan at The Mountain Winery. The venue offers dinner before shows, pairing hillside views with wine and seasonal plates, along with pre-concert service.⁸

Paul Masson completed La Cresta, his “Vineyard in the Sky,” in Saratoga in 1905.⁹ After the 1906 San Francisco earthquake damaged the original cellar, a new wine cellar was built by 1907, featuring a 12th-century Spanish portal from old St. Patrick’s Cathedral in San Jose.⁹

Masson sold the winery to Martin Ray in 1936, and the Masson name remained part of the property’s winemaking legacy.⁹ The concert bowl was built in 1958, and since then, Diana Ross, Ringo Starr, Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, and many more have graced the stage.^1,9
