About Fox Theatre

The Fox Theatre opened on March 6, 1992, with a performance by New Orleans funk legends The Meters, in a building that dates back to 1926 and served for decades as a neighborhood movie house.2,8

From its earliest days, the venue built a reputation around sound quality above all else. Co-owner Don Strasburg designed the room to draw the eye directly to the stage and tune the PA system to perfection.2

In 1994, G. Love & Special Sauce played the Fox on their first U.S. tour and returned the very next night after Strasburg asked them back, calling it the beginning of their connection with Colorado.2 The Fray signed their first record deal on the Fox stage in 2004, and the venue has remained a launching pad for artists and a cornerstone of the Colorado music community.2
