• Re-Entry & Smoking: Guests may not exit and re-enter Mercedes-Benz Stadium with the same ticket, and smoking/vaping is prohibited inside the stadium.²

Public Transportation: MARTA, Atlanta’s low-cost rail and bus network, has stops near the stadium at the SEC District Station and Vine City Station.³

Mercedes-Benz Stadium opened in 2017 after a $1.5 billion construction project led by HOK.⁹ In addition to the draw of sporting events and concerts, the firm designed the stadium to be a spectacle in and of itself. The stadium’s eye-catching geometric metal silhouette descends into mostly glass walls.

However, the real marvel is the facility’s retracting roof. The retractable roof of Mercedes-Benz Stadium uses eight triangular sections that open from the center, rather than a single sliding panel.⁹ Looking up from their seat, fans see a small point of light that expands to reveal the open sky in less than 12 minutes. Suspended from the ceiling is a circular digital display visible from nearly anywhere in the stadium, creating a “halo” effect with the open roof.⁹
