Bank of America Stadium opened in 1996 in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, as the home of the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. With a bowl-style design and seating for approximately 75,000, it quickly became one of the region’s signature sports venues.¹

Since then, the stadium has hosted Panthers home games, Charlotte FC matches, and the annual Duke’s Mayo Bowl since 2002, drawing fans from across the Southeast.²

The stadium has undergone multiple renovation phases, including major multimedia and concourse upgrades from 2014-2017 and soccer-specific enhancements ahead of Charlotte FC’s debut in 2022.
