Asbury Lanes joins a rising mix of family-friendly spots in Asbury Park, from the well-loved beach and classic arcades to mini golf, a glassblowing studio, food trucks, and a splash park.³ The surrounding area is overflowing with culturally rich experiences.

Public Transportation: The venue is accessible by NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line to Asbury Park Station, about a 20-minute walk or short ride away.¹⁰ Several NJ Transit bus routes (830, 832, 836, 837) and Academy Bus also stop nearby.¹⁰

Asbury Lanes’ famous diner offers a full menu featuring breakfast, sandwiches, greens, sides, drinks, and more.¹² The diner also features a full bar, and guests are welcome to sit or order at the window.¹³ No outside food is allowed, and you may need to make a reservation in advance if you plan to sit.^4,12

Asbury Lanes originally opened in 1962 as an 18-lane bowling alley.³ In 2003, the famous DIY concert venue emerged, which was the hub of the town’s punk culture renaissance.^2,3 Following more than a decade of local performances, in 2015, the owners closed for renovations.³

They reopened in 2018 as an updated concert space with six bowling lanes, a modern diner, and a secret passage to The Asbury, a nearby hotel built in 2016.^2,3 This renovation more than doubled the venue’s capacity.¹⁴
