Inter Miami CF is a Major League Soccer (MLS) Team based in Miami, Florida. The team is shaped by both international influences and regional pride. Inter Miami CF was first founded in 2018 and began playing MLS in 2020 as an expansion franchise. The club was co-founded by a prestigious group that includes businessman Jorge Mas and renowned professional footballer David Beckham, whose involvement has helped gain the team global recognition.¹

Previously, the team trained and played at Inter Miami CF stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The stadium opened in 2020 and seats approximately 21,400 fans.³ Alongside the MLS team, the club’s facilities host Inter Miami CF II and academy squads from U-10 to U-19.³

Though still a relatively young franchise, Inter Miami CF has already achieved several notable milestones in its competitive history.

• Leagues Cup Champions (2023): Inter Miami won the 2023 Leagues Cup, securing its first major trophy in club history.⁴ Additionally, two Inter Miami players received awards at the event. Lionel Messi won two awards for Leagues Cup Best Player and Top Scorer, and goalkeeper Drake Callendar won Man of the Match.⁴
• MLS MVP Winner (2024, 2025): One of MLS’s biggest names, Lionel Messi, won the MLS MVP award two consecutive years in a row in 2024 and 2025.⁵
• MLS Cup Winner (2025): Inter Miami CF first secured the 2025 Eastern Conference Championship, before going on to win the 2025 MLS Cup. The team cinched the victory with a 3-1 edge over the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the final at Chase Stadium.⁶
