About Newport Music Hall
Newport Music Hall has gone through several transformations since its construction in 1923. It originally served as a movie theater before it became a ballroom in 1970.
PromoWest purchased the property and converted it into the Newport Music Hall in 1984. Today, it maintains the ballroom aesthetic and serves as a piece of performing arts history. The facility is the country’s longest continually running rock club, having hosted live music for over five decades.
Newport Music Hall has hosted unforgettable live performances from storied acts like AC/DC and Sonic Youth, as well as contemporary acts like Amyl and The Sniffers, Fontaines D.C., and Caroline Polachek. The venue holds up to 1,700 attendees. Each year, over 150,000 guests attend concerts at the venue.10
