• Nationwide Arena: The home of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets holds up to 20,000 attendees for concerts.⁹

Newport Music Hall is accessible by public transit, and there are several parking garages nearby. The best options for parking are usually the Union South Garage across the street from the venue or renting a private parking spot.³

Public Transportation: Columbus’s COTA bus line has several stops within a 10-minute walk of Newport Music Hall.⁴

Newport Music Hall typically doesn’t serve food, focusing instead on its comprehensive bar service. At most, guests can expect to find snacks and/or candy for sale. The bar serves a selection of beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.⁵

The menu at the Newport Music Hall isn’t usually available ahead of events. Guests should plan to eat before or after the show at Newport Music Hall at one of the many restaurants surrounding the venue in Columbus’s University District.⁶

Newport Music Hall has gone through several transformations since its construction in 1923. It originally served as a movie theater before it became a ballroom in 1970.

PromoWest purchased the property and converted it into the Newport Music Hall in 1984. Today, it maintains the ballroom aesthetic and serves as a piece of performing arts history. The facility is the country’s longest continually running rock club, having hosted live music for over five decades.

Newport Music Hall has hosted unforgettable live performances from storied acts like AC/DC and Sonic Youth, as well as contemporary acts like Amyl and The Sniffers, Fontaines D.C., and Caroline Polachek. The venue holds up to 1,700 attendees. Each year, over 150,000 guests attend concerts at the venue.¹⁰
