About Miller High Life Theatre

The Miller High Life Theatre was originally the Milwaukee Auditorium. Built in 1909 on the site of Milwaukee's former exposition building, which was destroyed by fire in 1905, the Auditorium operated for more than 90 years. It hosted trade shows, graduation ceremonies, sporting events, and festivals.8

Eventually, the events it was hosting began to outgrow the auditorium. The city decided to repurpose the space. In 2003, it reopened as the Milwaukee Theatre after a major renovation. It became the Miller High Life Theatre in 2017.2
