In addition to their own bar, the Boulder Theater is located next door to the Lounge at Boulder Theater. Open one hour before doors on event nights, the Lounge serves pizza and salads.⁸ Drinks and snacks can be purchased at the lobby bar, including craft beer and cocktails.⁹

Boulder Theater opened in 1906, when it was the Curran Opera House. In 1936, it was rebranded as a luxury movie theater and named the Boulder Theater. With a striking Art Deco architectural style and iconic marquee, the venue is one of the most recognizable landmarks in downtown Boulder.

In the 1980s, as multiplex movie theaters became more common, the venue transformed again, this time into a nightclub. To prevent the building from being torn down, the Historic Boulder organization purchased the venue. After extensive renovations, the facility operates as a multi-purpose music venue and event space.²

Today, Z2 Entertainment operates the 850-seat theater.¹⁰
