About Turner Hall Ballroom

Turner Hall Ballroom gets its name from the Turn Verein, a German-American social, cultural, and athletic organization that founded a charter in Milwaukee in 1855. The group originally met in a private home, but later built Turner Hall in 1882. For more than 100 years, the building hosted the charter’s many functions, including political gatherings, dances, family events, and weddings. They also hosted athletic programs for children and adults out of the building.7

In the early 2000s, the historic building underwent a major facelift, including a full restoration of the Gilded Age ballroom on the building’s second floor. In 2007, Turner Hall Ballroom became one of the Pabst Theater Group's concert venues and began hosting live events for the public, including concerts, comedy shows, and other live entertainment.7
