About Brooklyn Steel
Brooklyn Steel was once the Brooklyn Steel Fabrication plant. John Moore and Jim Glancy, partners at Bowery Presents, decided to convert the large industrial space into a high-capacity venue to bring new music experiences to Brooklyn.5
While renovating the building, the partners kept many of the industrial features, including much of the steel, which pays homage to its roots.
The venue opened with five sold-out concerts by the local group LCD Soundsystem.5 Since then, the venue has hosted local and nationally known artists playing a variety of music styles.1
