About TD Garden

TD Garden opened on September 30, 1995, replacing the original Boston Garden, and immediately made waves with a sold-out opening concert by R.E.M.6 Since then, it has grown into New England’s largest sports and entertainment arena.1

Architecturally, it spans 755,000 square feet across a 162-foot-high, ten-story building. The arena has undergone major renovations, most recently a sweeping upgrade in 2014 to modernize concourses, amenities, and concession offerings.7

Over the years, TD Garden has borne witness to momentous events: it was the site of the 2004 Democratic National Convention, where Barack Obama delivered his now-historic keynote address.8 It has also hosted marquee concerts by the likes of Bruce Springsteen and U2, and served as a venue for major sporting events, including the NHL All-Star Game, multiple NCAA Frozen Fours, the WWE WrestleMania XIV, and countless playoff games for its resident teams.1,9,10
