Founded in 1917, the franchise was originally known as the Toronto Arenas before becoming the St. Patricks and eventually the Maple Leafs in 1927.² The team has won 13 Stanley Cup championships, ranking among the most successful franchises in NHL history and have won the second most in the league.¹
