About IFK Skövde HK

IFK Skövde HK has been part of Skövde handball for generations, from the wider IFK club roots of 1907 to the handball association formed in 1991.1

The club has a Svenska Cupen title, a European Challenge Cup win, and a long run at Sweden’s top level.1 Those titles give IFK Skövde more than longevity; they give the club a proven, winning record in Sweden and abroad.1 For IFK fans, that history is front and center of every home match at Arena Skövde.

History of IFK Skövde HK

IFK Skövde’s handball history began under the broader IFK Skövde name before IFK Skövde HK became its own club in 1991.1 The club’s rise included a Junior Championship in 1976, a Svenska Cupen win in 1987, and promotion to Elitserien for the 1990/1991 season.1

IFK moved from Idrottshallen to Arena Skövde during the 2001-2002 season, putting IFK on the Arena Skövde floor for the years that followed.1 In the 2003-2004 season, IFK Skövde won the Challenge Cup after defeating Dunkerque in the final, then won Elitserien for the first time in 2005.1

IFK Skövde HK at Arena Skövde
