About Gothic Theatre

Gothic Theatre began as a movie theatre in the 1920s and was among the early Denver-area theaters to exhibit sound films.1,3 Its front façade changed in the 1940s, and a 1998 renovation restored historic features while converting the venue for live music performances.1,8

The theatre reopened for concerts on June 23, 1999, with Rebirth Brass Band onstage.1 Since then, Gothic Theatre has hosted artists including Slayer, The Cranberries, and Rebirth Brass Band, while keeping its art deco character with murals, vintage wall sconces, tiered levels, balcony views, and a neon marquee.1,3,8
