Dignity Health Arena

Before your first visit to Dignity Health Arena, it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the venue’s rules to ensure a smooth experience.

• Re-Entry & Smoking: Dignity Health Arena, Theater and Convention Center are smoke-free buildings. Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas. Re-entry policies must be followed as posted for each event.
• Payment Options: Dignity Health Arena is a cashless venue. Major credit and debit cards are accepted.
• Prohibited Items: Cameras with detachable lenses, coolers, laptops or tablets, flashlights and laser pointers, masks, drones, and signs, flags, or banners over 11” x 17” are not permitted. Refer to the policy page for a complete list of prohibited items.
• Age Restrictions: Unless otherwise noted on the event page, events at Dignity Health Arena, Theater and Convention Center are all ages. Check the ticket listing to learn about any applicable age restrictions.

Bakersfield is home to several live event venues in addition to Dignity Health Arena.

• Dignity Health Amphitheatre: This outdoor amphitheatre venue also has a naming partnership with Dignity Health. Located in Bakersfield, California, this outdoor venue hosts a variety of concerts and shows and seats up to 4,000 people.²
• Historic Bakersfield Fox Theater: This historic, 1,500-seat venue hosts everything from corporate and private events to plays, concerts, holiday celebrations, and film screenings.⁴

Getting to Dignity Health Arena via car, rideshare, or public transportation is easy.

Public Transportation: There are multiple options for getting to Dignity Health Arena via public transportation. Several local bus routes serve the area surrounding the arena. Additionally, the San Joaquins train services a stop within walking distance of the arena.⁵

Driving: Parking is available both at the arena and in nearby lots. Parking at the venue can be purchased in advance at AXS, with rates varying by event. Dignity Health Arena is located at 1001 Truxtun Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93301.

While outside food and drink are not permitted in the arena, a variety of food and beverage options are available at the Dignity Health Arena. Choose from popular stadium snacks like popcorn and hot dogs, or meal options, including Mexican food, salads, and more.⁶

Alcoholic beverages like wine, beer, and mixed drinks are also available from select vendors throughout the arena.⁶

Dignity Health Arena was originally known as Centennial Garden and most recently as Mechanics Bank Arena, Theater and Convention Center before the downtown complex was rebranded as Dignity Health Arena, Theater and Convention Center in 2025.⁷

While a hockey team has called the arena home since it was built, an American Hockey League team moved there for the first time during the 2015-2016 season. The AHL affiliate for the Edmonton Oilers relocated to Bakersfield, along with four other teams that now form the Pacific Division of the AHL.⁷
