About Billy Bob's Texas
Billy Bob’s Texas sits in a building from 1910 that first served as an open-air barn for prize cattle during the Fort Worth Stock Show.12 The city enclosed it in 1936 as part of the Texas Centennial, adding a tower and converting it into a livestock arena.12 It later served as an airplane factory during World War II and a massive department store in the 1950s.12
The venue opened on April 1, 1981, as a 100,000-square-foot entertainment space with live music, bull riding, and a large dance floor.12 It now holds over 6,000 people.12 Artists like Alabama, Willie Nelson, and ZZ Top have performed here.12
