About Agora Theatre

Hank LoConti, a local entrepreneur and music lover, opened the original Agora Club in 1966. It was located in Little Italy, near the Case Institute of Technology and Western Reserve University’s campus.8

The Agora was a hit from the start. Eventually, the club got so popular that locals in Little Italy voiced their disdain for the loud music and fans. The Agora reopened in a new location in 1967. In 1984, a fire broke out at the Agora, and it was eventually moved to its present location. By the early 2000s, the Agora had become a historic landmark and was recognized for its contributions to Cleveland's music scene.8
