Phil Wickham was born in San Diego, California, and grew up in a faith-centered household where music played an important role in his life. Encouraged by his musician parents, he developed an interest in songwriting and worship music at an early age.²

A key turning point in Wickham’s career came in 2003 when he toured and self-released his self-produced debut album, Give You My World. He signed with Simple/INO Records in 2006 and released his self-titled album later that year, followed by Cannons in 2007.
