About Voxtrot
Voxtrot
American indie pop band Voxtrot was founded in Austin, Texas, by singer-songwriter Ramesh Srivastava.1 The band built a devoted following in the early 2000s with early EPs and songs such as Raised by Wolves and Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives, but disbanded by April 2010. They hosted a farewell tour, the Goodbye, Cruel World Tour, before the band members went their separate ways, each pursuing their own projects.1
In 2022, the band reunited. They reissued their early EPs and launched a new US tour to celebrate the return.1 In 2023, they released Another Fire, their first new original song in 14 years. Find Voxtrot tickets on AXS.
Voxtrot’s Background
Voxtrot was created in the middle of an era when emotional indie and twee-pop bands were gaining big followings online, and the band was no exception.1 They established their own record label, Cult Hero Records, to release their first EPs.2 By 2006, they were at the height of their early career, with Your Biggest Fan debuting at number 3 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart.
By the time the band disbanded in 2010, they had developed a dedicated indie music following.1 So it's no surprise that their 2022 return, as well as their first original song in 14 years, Another Fire, released in 2023, were met with big excitement. They followed this release with several other singles and a new album, Dreamers in Exile, released in 2026.2
Voxtrot’s Awards
Despite a short early career and a relatively recent return, Voxtrot has been recognized for their music:
- KUTX - Artist of the Month (2026): The Austin radio station KUTX named Voxtrot their March 2026 Artist of the Month following the release of their album, Dreamers in Exile.3
Voxtrot’s Biggest Hits
Voxtrot’s early career was marked by several fan-favorite indie-pop songs.
- The Start of Something (2005): Featured on the Raised by Wolves EP, this song became one of Voxtrot’s best-known early tracks.4
- Raised by Wolves (2005): Released in 2005 on the EP by the same name, Raised by Wolves continues to be one of their biggest standout hits.5
- Berlin Without Return (2009): Released as a standalone single near the end of the band’s first run, this track became their final original release before their hiatus.5
