About Ezra Collective
About Ezra Collective
Ezra Collective turns jazz into something you can dance to, clap with, and feel in real time. The London quintet — Femi Koleoso, TJ Koleoso, Joe Armon-Jones, Ife Ogunjobi, and James Mollison — plays with party energy, deep skill, and a rhythm-first sound.1
Their music pulls London jazz, Caribbean rhythm, West African groove, club culture, and soul music together.1,2 The band has helped bring UK jazz into bigger rooms while keeping the music loose, warm, and bringing people joy.1,2

Ezra Collective’s Background
Ezra Collective grew out of London’s youth jazz scene, where programs like Tomorrow’s Warriors gave young musicians a place to learn, connect, and start playing together.1,2 Their influences were wide from the start: Fela Kuti, D’Angelo, Bob Marley, A Tribe Called Quest, and Robert Glasper.
Their debut album, You Can’t Steal My Joy, arrived in 2019 after the single Quest for Coin earned Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World recognition on BBC Radio 1.2 Before they started filling big venues, Ezra Collective made its name by playing often and bringing jazz to people who may not have seen themselves in it before.1,2
