The Paul JAS Center is located in downtown Aspen, a walkable mountain town known for its vibrant arts scene, historic landmarks, and year-round live entertainment. Nearby venues offer everything from intimate club shows to classical performances and community events.

• Belly Up Aspen: Belly Up Aspen is an intimate live music venue that hosts a diverse lineup of rock, country, indie, and hip-hop artists. With a capacity of approximately 450 guests, it has become a popular stop for nationally touring performers.³
• Wheeler Opera House: Wheeler Opera House opened in 1889 and is a historic venue that seats approximately 500 guests. The venue hosts concerts, comedy shows, films, lectures, and community events throughout the year.⁴
• Aspen Art Museum: The Aspen Art Museum is known for its contemporary art exhibitions and cultural programming. The Paul JAS Center opened in 2025 as the first permanent home of Jazz Aspen Snowmass, providing a year-round space for live music, arts programming, and community events. Located above Aspen’s historic Red Onion building, the venue combines modern performance and educational spaces with a site that has been part of the city’s history for more than a century.⁸

Created as a gathering place for artists and audiences, the center features an intimate performance venue, classrooms, and recording studio. Its opening season welcomed artists including Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Christian McBride, and The New Mastersounds, reflecting the venue's programming across multiple music genres.⁸
