Understanding venue policies before you arrive helps ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience at TPC Sawgrass.

• Re-Entry & Smoking: For THE PLAYERS Championship and PGA Tour events, re-entry is not permitted.² Smoking, including vaping and e-cigarettes, is prohibited inside buildings, hospitality tents, or grandstands.³
• Payment Options: Most on-site purchases are cashless. Guests may use credit/debit cards or mobile pay options.
• Prohibited Items: No outside beverages, large bags, drones, selfie sticks, cameras, signs, posters, or seat cushions with a carry case or pockets.
• Age Restrictions: Most events welcome all ages. Any exceptions will be listed on the event page.

The Ponte Vedra Beach area offers more than just championship golf, with nearby Jacksonville providing a lively mix of sports, cultural, and entertainment venues.

• EverBank Stadium: Located in downtown Jacksonville, EverBank Stadium is home to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The arena hosts NFL games, major concerts, and large-scale events, with seating for over 67,000 spectators.⁵
• Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena: A versatile indoor arena that accommodates basketball, hockey, concerts, and family shows, the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena can seat approximately 16,000 guests.⁶
• Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts: Known for orchestral performances, Broadway tours, and other cultural events, the three venues that make up Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts (JCPA) offer around 5,000 seats.⁷

TPC Sawgrass offers on-site parking for visitors, making the venue easily accessible by car.

Public Transportation: While Ponte Vedra Beach is primarily car-oriented, nearby Jacksonville provides regional bus services through the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), which can connect to shuttles or rideshare options for reaching the venue.

TPC Sawgrass offers diverse food options from upscale dining at the clubhouse and on-site restaurant, NINETEEN, to casual tournament fare during events like THE PLAYERS Championship.⁴ Mouth-watering menu options include offerings by food trucks and local favorites. Alcohol, including beer, wine, and cocktails, is available at designated locations.

TPC Sawgrass opened in 1980 as the flagship property of the PGA TOUR’s Tournament Players Club network.¹ Renowned golf course architect Pete Dye, in close collaboration with former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane Beman, designed the course.¹

A core part of their vision was creating a course that favored no single style of play. To achieve this, the Stadium Course was intentionally balanced with a mix of short, medium, and long holes across all pars, an even blend of right- and left-doglegs, and a routing where no two consecutive holes run in the same direction.

In 1982, TPC Sawgrass became the permanent home of THE PLAYERS Championship, gaining international recognition for its challenging design and the famed island green at the 17th hole.

Over the years, TPC Sawgrass has undergone thoughtful renovations to enhance turf quality, modernize facilities, and improve environmental sustainability while preserving Dye’s original vision.⁸ Today, it remains one of golf’s most influential and architecturally significant venues.
