Located in Avondale, Arizona, the Phoenix Raceway opened in 1964. Over the past 60 years, it has hosted a variety of racing events from stock car races to NASCAR and INDYCAR.1
The track hosted its first NASCAR race in 1977, cementing its prominent place in NASCAR events across the country. Phoenix Raceway is known for having one of NASCAR’s most strategic short tracks.1
In 2011, history was made when Sam Hornish Jr. became the first driver to win an INDYCAR race and a major NASCAR race at Phoenix Raceway.1

About Phoenix Raceway
Over the years, Phoenix Raceway has completed several major upgrades, including rebuilding the grandstand in 1987 after lightning struck and destroyed it.1
In 2015, Phoenix Raceway was renamed the Jeff Gordon Raceway for the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 in honor of his importance in shaping the history of the fans, track, and the sport.1
Later, in 2018, ISM Connect modernized the track and updated amenities for teams, sponsors, fans, and stakeholders.1 These updates included the installation of a new state-of-the-art digital fan experience.
The venue returned to its original name, Phoenix Raceway, in 2020, continuing its long-standing role in professional motorsports.1
