About Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre
The Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre opened in 1921 as a movie theatre, described at the time as one of the most beautiful playhouses in the South. Over the 20th Century, the venue expanded its programming to include live music, film, and vaudeville acts.
Ruth Eckerd Hall took over management of the venue in 2009. After extensive renovations in 2013 and 2019, the venue was renamed the Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre. The Bilheimers donated millions for the renovation efforts.
