About The London Palladium
The London Palladium opened on 26 December 1910 and was designed by architect Frank Matcham.1 Over the decades, it became the official location of the Royal Variety Performance, hosting the annual charity event over forty times.6 It has hosted some of the biggest names in music, including Madonna, Frank Sinatra, and the Beatles. It was also home to some of the most legendary musicals, such as The Sound of Music and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.7
In the mid-20th century, the theatre staged Sunday Night at the London Palladium, an iconic television variety programme that introduced international stars to UK audiences.7 Extensive refurbishments in the 21st century modernised backstage facilities and audience areas while preserving the theatre’s original character.
Today, the London Palladium remains one of the West End’s most significant venues, blending historic architecture with contemporary production standards.
