The Wiggles
For more than 30 years, The Wiggles have been playing family-friendly music and performing popular shows around the world.1 Originally setting out to release a single album, The Wiggles founder had a background in education.1 His goal was to create music that was not only entertaining but also educational, a mission that The Wiggles continues today.1

The Wiggles’ Background
The Wiggles was founded in 1991 by Anthony Field. Field wanted to create a single album geared towards children, and recruited Murray Cook, Greg Page, and Jeff Fatt, as well as classical music composer Phillip Wilcher.1 Field, Cook, and Page had met while studying early childhood education at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.2
The CD was an instant success and quickly led to another CD, followed by DVDs, live shows, a television series, and world tours.2
Today, Field remains the lead of The Wiggles, though it has seen a number of members leave and join over the years.2 Regardless of the lineup, The Wiggles continue to bring family-friendly entertainment to a variety of stages across the globe.
The Wiggles’ Awards
In addition to selling millions of albums and downloads, The Wiggles have also been recognized with many awards over 30 years of performing.
- ARIA - Best Children’s Album (1995): The Wiggles won this award for their fifth album, Big Red Car.1
- APRA - International Achievement Award (2007): The Wiggles received this award from the Australasian Performing Rights Association for the popularity they’ve gained around the world.1
- ARIA - Best Australian Live Act (2022): The Wiggles took home this award for their Fruit Salad TC Big Show Tour/OG Wiggles Reunion Tour in 2022 and the beginning of 2023.1
The Wiggles’ Biggest Hits
The Wiggles have produced more than 1,000 songs.3 Many songs and several albums have gained a strong following, and received awards and recognition in addition to millions of streams and purchases.
- Yummy Yummy (1994): One of The Wiggles' earliest albums, Yummy Yummy features songs like Fruit Salad and Hot Potato and has sold hundreds of thousands of copies.4
- Hot Potato (1994): This popular song from the album Yummy Yummy has been streamed millions of times by fans across the world.5
- The Wiggles Movie Soundtrack (1997): This soundtrack, with songs like Dorothy and Hey There Wally, accompanied the release of the band’s movie, Magical Adventure: A Wiggly Movie, and went platinum in Australia.4
