About Bowling For Soup
Bowling For Soup are pop punk legends. Celebrating their 30th anniversary as a band, the Grammy nominated Texan four piece smashed their way into the public consciousness at the start of the millennium and have stayed there ever since. With hits like Girl All The Bad Guys Want, 1985, High School Never Ends and the Disney powered Today Is Gonna Be A Great Day (from Phineas and Ferb), there's a good chance most people you know will know at least one "BFS" song. Their 2022 album Pop Drunk Snot Bread was hailed as their best album in 15 years, a tribute to their enduring ability to put out great songs all the way through their career.
Bowling for Soup
Bowling for Soup is a Texas pop-punk band built on sarcasm, melody, and the kind of jokes that always come with a little truth hiding underneath.
The band’s sound pulls from power pop, ska, punk, and alternative rock, but its personality comes from songs that show the humor in growing up, getting older, and still making the same mistakes.1,2

Bowling for Soup’s Background
Bowling for Soup started in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1994 before relocating to Denton, Texas.2 The classic lineup of Jaret Reddick, Chris Burney, Erik Chandler, and Gary Wiseman gave the band its mix of jokes and laid-back Texas attitude.2
After early independent releases through the label FFROE, Bowling for Soup signed with Jive/Silvertone and brought that style to a wider audience with Let’s Do It for Johnny! and Drunk Enough to Dance, the album that featured their Grammy-nominated single Girl All the Bad Guys Want.1,3
Bowling for Soup’s Awards
Bowling for Soup never built its name on award-show polish. The band’s biggest industry nod came from Girl All the Bad Guys Want, the Drunk Enough to Dance single that brought their Texas pop-punk humor to the Grammys.2,3
- Grammy Award – Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal Nomination (2003): Girl All the Bad Guys Want earned Bowling for Soup a Grammy nomination, giving one of the band’s funniest songs a very serious industry moment.3
Bowling for Soup’s Biggest Hits
Bowling for Soup’s most familiar tracks usually start with humor, turning a punchline into songs that fans know by heart.
- 1985 (2004): From A Hangover You Don’t Deserve, 1985 follows a suburban nostalgia spiral through pop-culture references, regret, and one of the band’s most recognizable choruses.2,4,5
- Girl All the Bad Guys Want (2002): From Drunk Enough to Dance, Girl All the Bad Guys Want turns the “nice guy likes the wrong girl” setup into Bowling for Soup’s Grammy-nominated single.3,5
- High School Never Ends (2006): From The Great Burrito Extortion Case, High School Never Ends treats adulthood like the same social circus with older faces and better production.1,5
See Bowling for Soup Live
Bowling for Soup concerts feature songs from across the band’s catalog, along with quick stage jokes and plenty of crowd back-and-forth. Their live performances keep the band’s pop-punk sound loose and funny, with the stage banter doing almost as much work as the choruses.6
