About Amyl and The Sniffers

Genre
Alternative / Punk,…

Amyl and The Sniffers have already had a monster year, destroying the main stages of European summer festivals, supporting Foo Fighters on their recent US stadium run, and selling out their own headline tours in the US, UK and Europe, including three consecutive nights at the 3,000-capacity Roundhouse in London. They are the main support for Fontaines DC’s 45,000 capacity Finsbury Park show in July 2025 (already sold out) and have just announced their biggest headline ever at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Following the release of singles U Should Not Be Doing That, Chewing Gum, Big Dreams and the joyful FU that is Jerkin’, Amyl and The Sniffers are entering a new era with their third album, Cartoon Darkness. Already hailed as “album of the year” (Clash) and “a level-up in every way” (Brooklyn Vegan), Cartoon Darkness sees the Sniffers grow in brilliant, bold directions — still delivering hard and fast thrills, but expanding the heart, the danceable hooks, and the humor, channeling Amy Taylor’s singular worldview into the Sniffers’ most mature and exciting album to date.

Catch Amyl and The Sniffers' Cartoon Darkness World Tour, coming to venues across the US in Spring 2025.

Amyl and the Sniffers

Amyl and the Sniffers are a Melbourne punk band with pub-rock muscle, fast guitars, and Amy Taylor’s sharp, full-throttle vocal attack. Formed in 2016, the band pulls from punk, garage rock, and hard-edged rock’n’roll.1,2

Amyl and the Sniffers’ Background

The band started in a Melbourne sharehouse, where Amy Taylor, Bryce Wilson, and Declan Martens began playing together in early 2016.2 Their first EP, Giddy Up, was written, recorded, and released in 12 hours while the bandmates were house-sharing.3 They followed it with Big Attraction before the self-titled debut album arrived.2

By 2019, Amyl and the Sniffers had won ARIA recognition, and Comfort to Me later debuted at No. 2 on the ARIA Charts.3

Amyl and the Sniffers’ Awards

Amyl and the Sniffers have earned major recognition in Australia and abroad without smoothing out their sound.

  • ARIA Award - Album of the Year (2025): Cartoon Darkness won Album of the Year, one of four ARIA wins for the band that year.⁴
  • Kerrang! Award - Best International Breakthrough (2022): The band won Best International Breakthrough at the 2022 Kerrang! Awards.⁵
  • BandLab NME Award - Best Band From Australia (2022): Amyl and the Sniffers won the Australia-specific category after Comfort to Me helped carry their name beyond the local punk scene.⁶

Amyl and the Sniffers’ Biggest Hits

Amyl and the Sniffers’ most popular tracks hit fast, with chant-ready lines, heavy riffs, and Taylor’s voice front and center.

  • Hertz (2021): From Comfort to Me, Hertz pairs a driving rhythm with Taylor’s restless delivery, making it one of the band’s most recognized tracks.⁷
  • U Should Not Be Doing That (2024): From Cartoon Darkness, U Should Not Be Doing That leans into the band’s bite, humor, and swagger.⁷
  • Security (2021): Also from Comfort to Me, Security turns a simple hook into a punchy punk song with a clear live-show pull.⁷
