This solo artist does it all, from writing to recording to performing to producing.1Tame Impala has collaborated with a range of musicians. <?xml encoding="UTF-8">Kevin Parker, the performer behind Tame Impala, was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1986. He grew up in Perth, Western Australia.His father was a musician, which inspired him to pick up the drums and start writing music as a child. He eventually learned to play the guitar, and in 2007, Tame Impala began.Originally a collaboration with some of Kevin Parker&rsquo;s childhood friends, Tame Impala was influenced by Pink Floyd and Hawkwind. It didn&rsquo;t take long before the creative Kevin Parker made Tame Impala his own, singing and playing all the instruments himself.In the 2000s, Tame Impala&rsquo;s music started to gain popularity on Myspace, and this led to a record deal with Modular Records in 2008. Tame Impala became a supporting act for the <a href="https://www.axs.com/artists/104800/the-black-keys-tickets" target="_blank">Black Keys</a> and <a href="https://www.axs.com/artists/201383/mgmt-tickets" target="_blank">MGMT</a>, and released the debut album, Innerspeaker, in 2010.
