The Sonnentag Event Center has quickly become a centerpiece of entertainment and athletics in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Located on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus, the state-of-the-art venue opened in 2024 as the new home of the Blugolds basketball and volleyball teams. About Sonnentag Event Center
Sonnentag Event Center opened in 2024 as a new gathering place for both the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the surrounding Chippewa Valley community. Built to replace the university’s longtime Zorn Arena, the modern facility was designed to host everything from NCAA athletics and commencement ceremonies to concerts, conventions, and community events.1
Since opening, the venue has welcomed a variety of notable performers and events. Country star Chris Young headlined the arena’s inaugural concert, while comedian Brian Regan helped introduce the venue as a stop for national comedy acts.
