Il Volo is an Italian operatic vocal trio that combines traditional opera with pop, classical symphonic music, and Latin influences.¹ Since arriving on the international stage in 2010, the group has performed at major opera halls around the world.¹

Formed in 2010, Il Volo consists of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble.¹ The three singers first appeared as individual contestants on the television vocal competition Ti Lascio una Canzone in 2009.¹ Producers brought them together to perform O Sole Mio on an episode of the show.¹ The performance marked the beginning of the trio and helped lead to the creation of Il Volo.¹

Following their success on the show, Il Volo became popular in Europe.¹ They contributed to Quincy Jones' charity single We Are the World: 25 for Haiti.¹ The trio also performed at the Sanremo Music Festival in 2010, and later won in 2015.¹
