<?xml encoding="UTF-8">Matt Quinn and Sam Cooper first met at Conestoga High School in Philadelphia, but went to college at different schools.2Later, Quinn and Cooper reconnected in Los Angeles, where they met bassist Michael Byrnes through a Craigslist ad and recorded Mt. Joy's first single, Astrovan, together. The song took off on streaming services without any initial promotion, giving the trio the momentum to pursue music full-time. They rounded out the lineup with Sotiris Eliopoulos and Jackie Miclau.5In 2017, Mt.
