About Oklou
About Oklou
Oklou makes soft, atmospheric electronic pop with airy vocals, club rhythm, and the sleek edges of hyperpop. Her songs leave space for quiet details while keeping an emotional pull that feels close and precise.1,2,3
Galore widened her audience in 2020, while choke enough brought more depth, risk, and scale to her sound.1
Score Oklou tickets on AXS and see how her soft-focus pop translates from headphones to the stage.
Oklou’s Background
Oklou is the project of Marylou Vanina Mayniel, a French producer, songwriter, and singer born in Poitiers.1 She studied classical piano, sang in choirs, and took music theory classes growing up.2
As a teenager, she played in bands and began writing original music before a computer, and GarageBand changed the scale of what she could make on her own. SoundCloud, club music, and Paris nightlife widened the electronic language she was starting to build.2
When Galore arrived in 2020, she was positioned as an emerging voice in Europe’s hyperpop scene, and her atmospheric, melodic sound drew wider attention.1
