Dropkick Murphys are a Celtic punk rock band. Best known for foot-stomping hits like I’m Shipping Up to Boston and Rose Tattoo, the band combines traditional Celtic wind instruments with heavy guitar and drums.
Apart from their music’s anti-establishment themes, the band has also been outspoken supporters of humanitarian causes and even has its own charity, the Claddagh Fund. The charity supports veterans, children, and addiction treatment.1

Dropkick Murphys Background
Dropkick Murphys formed in Quincy, MA, in 1996. The founding members, all Massachusetts natives, had deep connections with Irish music, and they quickly realized it was a big influence on their sound.
In the late 90s, the band signed with Hellcat Records and went on tour opening for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Since then, the band’s music has appeared in Oscar-winning films and has released multiple number-one singles.2
