The Chorus will perform some of the most important and exciting music ever written -- from the iconic protest songs of Guthrie, and Dylan and Lennon, to the heart- stopping personal, and gay, anthems from La Cage aux Folles, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Rent, Wicked and The Wizard of Oz. The theatre was originally built for film viewings, and hosted numerous film premieres and special screenings during the 1950s and 1960s.1In the 1980s, the theatre transitioned into a stage venue, and much of its original Art Deco style was covered up. In 2005, Temple Shalom for the Arts purchased the building and restored it to its original glory, renaming it the Saban Theatre in 2009.
