About Brand New

Genre
Alternative / Punk

Formed in 2000 on Long Island, New York, Brand New is an American alternative rock band consisting of Jesse Lacey, Vincent Accardi, Garrett Tierney, and Brian Lane. After signing with Triple Crown Records, the band released their debut album, Your Favorite Weapon, in 2001, establishing themselves within the Long Island emo and pop-punk scene. Their breakthrough second album, Deja Entendu, arrived in 2003 and featured the singles “The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows” and “Sic Transit Gloria… Glory Fades.” The album showcased a more mature sound and was later certified Gold in the United States. Following a major-label bidding war, the band signed with DreamWorks/Interscope and released The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me in 2006, a record that would become one of the most influential albums of the emo era. In 2009, they put out their fourth album Daisy, reaching No. 6 on the Billboard 200.  Brand New returned in 2017 with Science Fiction, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and received widespread critical acclaim.
