About Hadestown
Hadestown
Step into a world where song can change your fate. Hadestown is a genre-defying phenomenon that intertwines two mythic tales (that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone), inviting you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.
The atmosphere is electric, transforming the theater into an intimate, post-apocalyptic New Orleans-style jazz club. Audiences are drawn in by the hauntingly beautiful melodies and the poetic imagination that pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love.
This celebrated production offers a unique theatrical experience that resonates with theatergoers of all generations.
Whether you’re a devotee of Greek mythology or simply a lover of soul-stirring folk and jazz music, the show delivers a deeply moving narrative that feels fresh with every performance. Don't miss the opportunity to witness this Tony Award-winning masterpiece live.

About Hadestown
Hadestown began its journey long before it reached Broadway. Created by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell, it started as an indie theater project in Vermont in 2006, eventually evolving into a celebrated concept album in 2010. Mitchell teamed up with director Rachel Chavkin to develop the stage production, which saw iterations off-Broadway, in Edmonton, and at the National Theatre in London.3
The show officially opened on Broadway in 2019, where it achieved critical acclaim, winning eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.3 Its cultural impact lies in its ability to modernize ancient mythology, using American folk and jazz traditions to explore timeless themes of climate change, labor, and love.
