Melody’s Echo Chamber is the solo project of Paris-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Melody Prochet. Melody’s self-titled debut album, co-produced with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, was released in 2012 to critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Vogue, and the New Yorker. Melody cited influences as diverse as Erik Satie, Can, and Stereolab for the record’s sound, and she toured extensively in support of the album for two years, with high-profile festival slots at Montreaux Jazz Festival, Primavera Sound, and Glastonbury. She released the new song “Shirim” in October of 2014, and NME praised the track for being “celestial and authoritative, but also wonderfully unhinged,” and NPR described the tune as “sweet, psychedelic, and magical.” In 2015, Melody was photographed by Hedi Slimane to model in a new campaign for Yves Saint Laurent, and she continued to tour, performing at festivals including FYF and Coachella. In April of 2017 Melody released “Cross My Heart” as the first single from her new album, and Pitchfork lauded the song for its “adventurous” spirit. The second Melody’s Echo Chamber album Bon Voyage will be released later in 2017.
