About Dean Miller

Genre
Country

Dean Miller is a singer, songwriter and music producer. He has written songs for many artists including George Jones, Trace Adkins, Jamey Johnson, Terri Clark and Trisha Yearwood. As an artist he has recorded for multiple record labels and is releasing his sixth studio album in September, 2026.

Dean was born into a musical family. His father is the late Roger Miller, known for songs like King of the Road and his role in Disney’s Robin Hood, as well as the Tony award winning musical Big River.

Dean’s newest album is called Songs. “These are songs I’ve collected over the years that I think deserve to be heard,” Dean says. "Some of them I wrote, some of them I didn’t.” Not only is Dean a writer and performer on the album, he also produced it.

The first single is called The Hammer Going Down. “It’s a song about a trucker and his ‘drive’ to get home to his girl,” Dean said. “I wrote it with Chris Knight and his version was in a movie called Black Dog with Patrick Swayze, Randy Travis and Meat Loaf.”

“I want to thank SiriusXM’s Outlaw Channel for continuing to play and support the song. I think they’re partly responsible for all the success it’s having,” Dean said.

Dean has had a fascinating journey through the music business. He moved to Nashville from Los Angeles, California. He signed several record deals, wrote songs for many artists, toured and sang all over the world.

He later took the skills he learned producing his own music and began producing for other artists. Over the years Dean has worked with hundreds of performers including Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and many more. “I really love working with singers who write their own songs,” Dean said. “Growing up, my heroes were always the songwriters, the people who create the music. I was so fortunate to grow up with one of the greatest songwriters who ever lived. I couldn’t have had a better teacher.”

Besides music, Dean teaches and rehabilitates dogs. He created a method of training and wrote the book “A Dog’s Way.”

“It’s a pretty busy life,” Dean says. “I’m either writing music, performing it, producing it, singing it or teaching a dog. I get to do exactly what I love every day. I would say I’m blessed.”
