Behind the decks, clad in a signature soccer jersey, and surrounded by rabid fans every night, ZULAN has entrenched herself at the center of a movement. The Argentinian-American artist, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ has quietly incited the fervor of an ardent audience, selling out shows on multiple continents, playing a coveted set to packed crowds at Coachella, and igniting social media. Adopting an old school D.I.Y. approach, she not only takes the reins of her artistry as a producer, but she also personally curates every level of the live experience—down to every last detail such as choosing venues and picking the right jersey for each occasion. Growing up between New York and Argentina, ZULAN’s father placed her in piano lessons at just four-years-old before she later learned guitar and drums. Taking a course on Vinyl Mixing and Music Production, she devoted countless hours to learning how to cook up beats and create songs. Eventually, she started to DJ in order to share her music with the world. She grinded by spinning at clubs and frat parties, yet she found herself constricted by music requirements from venue proprietors. So, ZULAN took matters into her own hands. She saved up money, rented out a venue, and headlined her debut show in New York during September 2023, inviting people via DM. It promptly sold out and set the stage for a Los Angeles gig. Viral clips of the West Coast show surged on social media, and she intentionally chose Argentina as the site of her third performance. Returning to the States, a particularly wild performance at a sold-out church in L.A. led to her taking her career to the next level. Now, she’s primed to forever impact electronic music, beginning with debut single “Forever,” which reinvents, reimagines, and recharges Clairo’s “4EVER” as a nocturnal dancefloor anthem.
