Born on July 26, 1970, in Duisburg-Neudorf, Germany, Markus Krebs came to comedy by accident rather than design.² Before starting in comedy, he worked in a gift shop, drove disabled children to school, and was a retail store manager.¹ In 2008, when a scheduled comedian dropped out of a local contest organized by his brother in Dinslaken, Krebs stepped in as a last-minute replacement – and ended up taking home the top honors of the night.¹
