The Houston Texans were established in 2002 as the NFL’s 32nd franchise, returning pro football to H-Town after the Oilers relocated to Tennessee in 1997.¹ The team’s name, chosen to reflect Texas pride and heritage, beat out other finalists, such as Apollos and Stallions.² Though a young franchise, the Texans made their first playoff appearance in 2011 and have since claimed multiple AFC South division titles.³ Defensive powerhouse J.J.
