Many people know Ruby Leigh as the sixteen-year-old self-taught artist from her viral performances on Season 24 of The Voice. Millions of viewers watched her set new records on her way to becoming the first runner up. Those who have seen Ruby Leigh live say: “It’s not like a regular live music show. It feels more spiritual.” “Ruby Leigh is an old soul; she highlights all the greats in such a pure and positive way and breathes new life back into their classic songs.” “Ruby Leigh can sing anything, but when she sings the old country classics, you’re transported to another dimension in time.”
It may surprise her fans to know that Ruby Leigh started her career at nine years old when, to her parent’s surprise, she first realized she could sing. After listening to some of her dad’s old records, she immediately fell in love with all the greats of country music including Loretta, Hank Sr., Jimmy Rodgers, Patsy, Dolly, and the list goes on and on. The more she learned about her musical heroes, she soon realized that there were a few things that she dreamed of doing one day. On the top of that list was playing The Grand Ole Opry!
On August 2nd the stars aligned, and Ruby Leigh made her Opry debut and released her new co-written single “Love’s Like A Rose” the same week. With the power of Patsy Cline, the versatility of Linda Ronstadt, and the clarity of Karen Carpenter, Ruby Leigh is truly one of kind, generational, must-see artist.
