In celebration of Walking On A Dream’s tenth anniversary, Empire Of The Sun re-released their album on a limited-edition vinyl, which included a free download of newly released track “Chrysalis”. The third album, Two Vines debuted at #1 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and #8 on the US Alternative Albums Chart. The single, “Walking on A Dream,” has more than 210 million Spotify streams and 87 million YouTube plays. The last few years have been huge for the band with standout performances at the likes of Coachella, for their third time, Ultra Music Festival, Outside Lands and Governors Ball. Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore formed Empire Of The Sun in Sydney in 2007 after coming from different sides of Australian music: Steele from The Sleepy Jackson and Littlemore from PNAU.1,3
Their debut album, Walking On A Dream, arrived in 2008 and introduced the duo’s mix of music and cinematic presentation.2,3 They followed up with Ice On The Dune in 2013 and Two Vines in 2016, the latter featuring collaborators including Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac, members of David Bowie’s Blackstar team, and Wendy Melvoin of Prince & the Revolution.2
