The Congress is a Virginia-based four-piece, equal parts rock & roll, old-school soul, and outlaw country. Founded by Scott Lane and Jonathan Meadows, the band falls under the influence of the diverse music of their hometown of Richmond, where the spirit of soul music prevails with infusions of jazz, punk rock, and Appalachia. The Congress has been living in Denver, Colorado for several years but moved back to Richmond in late 2015 -- and is touring on the East Coast and recording a second LP.
