Like most everyone, Last Train Home, the acclaimed roots-rock band based in Nashville and Washington D.C., has been on some form of lockdown. But that is changing. In 2022 LTH will celebrate its 25th anniversary, and will be kicking off the year with a few live shows in January. Here's what bandleader Eric Brace has to say about all that:
We can't wait for January to come around, when we can play in front of the folks we've known and loved for a quarter century! And despite the restrictions on just about every kind of human interaction, we've been using technology at our fingertips to work on our new LTH album. It's mostly original tunes, with a few well chosen covers, and features the usual cast of characters: Jared Bartlett (guitars), Kevin Cordt (trumpet), Jim Gray (bass), Martin Lynds (drums), Dave Van Allen (pedal steel), Chris Watling (saxophone and accordion), Bill Williams (guitar, banjo, mandolin), plus keyboard genius Kevin McKendree popping up here and there. We've all been recording our parts at various remote locations and sending the audio files to Jared who is a digital audio wizard. We thought maybe we had said all we were going to say back when "Daytime Highs and Overnight Lows" came out in 2019, but there turns out to be a whole lot more joy to be had making music together.
The pandemic has made us all appreciate each other even more than we did before, and we really, really miss the people who've cared about us since we got started all those years ago. So please get vaccinated and come out to see us in January! -- Eric Brace
