About Lil Baby

Genre
Hip Hop / Rap

In 2018, Atlanta bred, Grammy award-Winning artist Lil Baby (Quality Control Music / Capitol Records) rose to mainstream prominence when he released his debut album, Harder Than Hard, which entered No. 3 on the Billboard 200 during its opening week. Baby's popularity soared when he notched his first Hot 100 top 10 record, "Yes Indeed," with Drake and collaborated with Gunna on their joint album Drip Harder. The collaborative project kept Baby's momentum intact, as he earned his second top-ten single with "Drip Too Hard" and Drip Harder debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. "Drip Too Hard" is now certified diamond.

2020 was the year Lil Baby reached new heights in his career, achieving superstar status with the release of his seminal album, My Turn. The star-laden album featuring Gunna, 42 Dugg, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, and Rylo Rodriguez earned Baby his first Billboard 200 No. 1 spot and became the best-selling album of the year, surpassing even pop titan Taylor Swift. The 7X platinum project held the No. 1 position for five weeks and produced game-changing singles, including the powerful protest song "The Bigger Picture." This song, born during the peak of the Black Lives Matter movement after the tragic killing of George Floyd, earned Baby multiple Grammy nominations, including Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. That year, Baby graced the cover of Billboard's R&B / Hip-Hop Power Players and Rolling Stone for his triumphant wins.

The following year, Baby teamed up with Lil Durk  for their collaborative album The Voice of the Heroes, which earned him his second No. 1 album. In 2021, Baby won his first Grammy for his appearance on Kanye West's "Hurricane," a significant achievement that solidified his position in the industry. The song won Best Melodic Rap Performance, a category that recognizes artists who excel in blending melody and rap, showcasing Baby's versatility and talent.

Baby's third and fourth albums, (2022) It's Only Me and (2024) WHAM, have etched him in rarified air and sealed him two more No. 1 albums, giving him four consecutive Billboard 200 chart-topping releases. Baby is now the sixth act to score 150 hits on the Hot 100, after Drake, Taylor Swift, Future, Lil Wayne, and Ye. For his career, he has amassed 30 million albums sold, 47 RIAA-certified platinum records, 45 RIAA-certified gold records, and over 75 billion global streams. This year, My Turn, which reaches its fifth anniversary, was crowned the top rap album of the 21st century and 8th overall across all genres.
