Adele
Adele, born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, has a loyal following of fans. The breakthrough moment for the singer-songwriter was in 2008, when she released her debut album 19. As the title suggests, she was 19 at the time and the album hit the number four spot on the Billboard 200.1
Adele followed up this album with 21, 25, and 30. These came with other hit singles such as Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You, Hello, and Easy on Me.2
The artist’s music has appeared in movies, too. For example, the Skyfall movie features the song of the same name, and Rolling in the Deep is on the I Am Number Four soundtrack.3
Adele is well-known for her big vocals and ballads with a mix of jazz and soul. If you want to catch her live, you will find Adele tickets on AXS.
Adele's Background
From Tottenham, London, Adele began singing at the age of four. However, it wasn’t until she was 15 that she discovered her true style, inspired by the likes of Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald. Adele attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, which is what led to her discovery. She recorded a series of demos for school, which her friend then uploaded to Myspace. After thousands of plays, the teenager secured a record deal with XL Recordings.
Adele gained fame with her debut album, 19. Some of the most popular songs include Chasing Pavements, Cold Shoulder, and Make You Feel My Love. Three more albums have followed, with 21, 25, and 30 — each title refers to her age at the time of recording.
Adele has a long list of achievements, including recognition from the Oscars, Brit Awards, and Grammy Awards.4
