Pitbull’s Background

Armando Christian Pérez, better known as Pitbull, was born in Miami, Florida, in 1981. His stage name, Pitbull, comes from the dog breed.

Growing up, he always loved music, and in 2001, Pitbull signed a contract with TVT Records. His debut album, M.I.A.M.I was released in 2004, and one of the standout singles was Culo. Other albums followed, including El Mariel (2006), The Boatlift (2007), and Planet Pit (2011).

Pitbull performed at the opening ceremony of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, collaborating with Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte to create the official theme song for the event. Shortly after, he hosted the American Music Awards.

Pitbull has his own fragrance line and founded the Sports Leadership and Management Academy (SLAM) that supports young people.1,5,6
